Media and Public Relations Unit
The Media and Public Relations Unit is responsible for highlighting the role of the Association and its achievements, and for strengthening the position of the Child Assessment and Education Center within the educational and academic community. This is achieved through a range of activities that showcase the services provided by the Center, raise awareness of Specific Learning Difficulties, and highlight the Center’s efforts as a leading institution in research and remedial intervention programs. This role also extends to maintaining strong relationships with similar institutions at both the local and international levels through active participation in exhibitions and conferences.
The Child Assessment and Education Center established the Media and Public Relations Unit as a step toward strengthening the Center’s community role, which includes:
Raising awareness about learning difficulties and correcting misconceptions about individuals with learning difficulties.
Presenting individuals with learning difficulties as capable and productive members of society.
Disseminating modern research and significant studies in the field of learning difficulties.
Strengthening communication between the Center and local and regional institutions.
Facilitating communication between the Center and members of the community.
In addition, the Media and Public Relations Unit plays an important role in producing awareness publications and audiovisual materials across media channels and social media platforms. Over the years, the unit has also played a distinguished role in organizing conferences and exhibitions at the State of Kuwait level.
Some people confuse Specific Learning Difficulties with intellectual disability, slow learning, blindness, deafness, or behavioral disorders; however, none of these conditions are considered Specific Learning Difficulties. Although learning difficulties may coexist with other issues such as self-regulation problems, perceptual difficulties, or challenges in social interaction, these issues do not cause learning difficulties.
Similarly, learning difficulties may occur alongside certain external factors, such as cultural differences or ineffective or inappropriate instruction; however, learning difficulties are not caused by these conditions or influences.
